You will need to use something like Photoshop or Gimp to make the background transparent and then save it as either a .GIF or a .PNG. You must use a file type that supports transparency. JPG and BMP do not support transparency.

you can do this with .bmp and .jpg too..

take the image, copy it..
open Microsoft Powepoint..
paste it in there
use the cut background tool
then copy the image again
and paste it back into your vb form biggrin.gif icon_up.gif

hmmm..did you get the tutorial? did it show up on your screen? cuz i thought i went into as much detail as possible..

- i take the image from visual basic 6 and select it and press ctrl+c

- then i open up Microsoft Power Point and make the background a greenish color so i can see the background of the image.

- i select the image in PowerPoint so the image editor box shows up..

-then i select the cut background tool
-i then click on the white background on the image

- then i select the imgae again, and copy it using ctrl+c
-then i simply paste it back into visual basic 6 using ctrl+v

if that doesnt help any more..

can i get the image you have so i can try it? or what version of VB are you using? im using VB6..
