If the example I attached is what you're looking for, The Gimp has a built in tool for it. Just Xtns->Logos->Text Circle.

If you like more control, look into ImageMagick: http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/fonts/#arch

Results are just a command line away.

I'm sorry, I assumed you wanted a logo or something. You want to do this from within a dead VB program? Ouch.

ImageMagick is still your best bet, I think. They have an OLE wrapper that you should be able to call. You'll have to include the DLL in you project, but that should be simple. If all else fails, it's a command line program, so you should be able to call it from your program.

I'm afraid I can't offer a VB6 example. I don't have a Windows box and even if I did I haven't used the beast in ten years. The Express edition of VB.NET is free? That would be easier to hook into any newer code from.

To create such a circular structure you will need to use API calls. I found a nice example here. This only shows how to rotate the font, but once you have this it is not hard to create the circle effect.
