I am taking a course right now and it involves Visual Basic. Our instructor is not really helping us and I am completely lost and clueless. I now how to declare and assign but when I try and put it out logically it does not make sense. So my question is how did you guys learn this language and is it normal to only be doing this for three weeks and not really understand it,

Thanks!

Did you receive a book for this class? I'd suggest picking up a book & putting some extra reading time into the class... maybe ask your instructor (or another student) to stay over a few minutes & help you out.

Actually I do have a book for this class called Programming with Microsoft visual basic 2005 but I had to purchase it on my own. I have tried to read but I am taking two courses at the moment and it is very difficult to do so. I have asked for help but my requests are brushed off and not responded too. We do have videos but they are only the basics and what is being asked of us has not been taught and we are expected to know it come the midterm. Although I will try to do my best!

Well, if you plan to make in the computer world, this is an obsticle you'll need to become friends with. No one gives you work because you know how to do it. You get work that is expected to be done. Working with technology that is constantly changing, you either keep up or you get left behind.

Best of luck! Post if you have any questions.

My suggestion is to research the available tutorials which are freely available from microsoft and the internet. I have zero access to any help apart from the internet. I have just completed my first database app with the help of the DIC team after only 6 months of programming.

Apply yourself to the problems when they arise then post the code you have created. The guys here will help you.

It can be done.
