comparing two pictures, looking for differences between two pictures

i am trying to write code for a security camera.the way i plan to do it is to compare a picture of the area to a picture that is taken every 5 seconds and search for differences. i have no idea wherre to start so if anyone could point me in the right dirrection that would be great.

Use the Picture1.point...

Don't compare every pixel just every couple. If you try to compare the every single one it will be too slow...
