DIC's tutorial section has been really handy for me but it would be great if there are tutorials on the assembly language (Eg. Motorola 68K). What do you think? rolleyes.gif

Randall Hyde has written several great books on assembler language. The titles are:
  • The Art of Assembly Language
  • Write Great Code: Volume 1: Understanding the Machine
  • Write Great Code, Volume 2: Thinking Low-Level, Writing High-Level

The first book is a good introduction to assembly language. The other two are books that I think every programmer should read, as they describe how computers work, and why they work they way they do.

I got that book from our local library. A few years ago, I actually exchanged a few words with mr Hyde on alt.lang.asm

I don't know of any other author that is as approachable as he is.

Aside from me, you mean? smile.gif

Mr Hyde is indeed a good writer; a coworker of mine took his assembler course at school, and I'm told he's a good teacher. We've exchanged some code in the past, but I haven't spoken to him in more than a decade.

My bibliography includes a few books, many chapters, and lots of magazine articles... but not much, lately.
