Downloading now. I've been running 3 Beta 5 at work and it's been pretty solid. A few things take some time to get used to (especially the location bar drop down), but it feels solid.

I am very distraught over the fact FireFTP is not compatible with this yet.

Not good for Firefox..

I don't see how it's *bad* for Firefox...

Give the FireFTP devs a few weeks after 3.0f comes out, and there'll be a FF3 compatible version.

Not really bad for Firefox, just people like me who depend on it. I will wait till a compatible version is released. Of course there are always alternatives I could use in the mean time, but FireFTP is a very solid extension and until it is compatible I will have to decline the upgrade.

All the plugins will be out shortly. A few of mine were just starting to release them for Beta 5, then RC1 came out, it'll be a week or 2 for the major ones.

I personally, don't usually try RC/beta or even the first version. I usually wait for a couple of months to see how it pans out and this is usually for all my software.

Any other conservatives like me?

Beta software is fun to test, but Firefox crashes enough as it is (thanks to flashplayer)!

I usually stick with what's in the Debian stable repos (with some exceptions, ex. Pidgin).

I might try it; but IceWeasel will stay my primary browser because of FireFTP. It's nice to be able to upload, then make sure it works right etc.

FireFTP is cool, but I found it to be buggy sometimes.

For basic things I prefer just using the built-in ftp client that's available on pretty much every platform. icon_up.gif

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but has FireFox done anything to improve their compatibility with this release?

Not sure on compatibility. I always thought FireFox was one of the more compatible.

I know they re-did all their JavaScript stuff, so it should support that better.
