Dream.In.Code has been around for 7 1/2 years now and in that time I've had the distinct pleasure of meeting many incredible people. I've also had the opportunity of working with many of these incredible people here at Dream.In.Code, and even in real life (I know... what's that?!). But in those 7 1/2 years, many faces have come and gone and some even come back from time to time.
Today, I'd like to welcome jayman9 to the Admin team (promoted from Moderator). Jayman has worked tirelessly to keep the forums clean, organized, and rename titles so people who don't quite know what "helpzz me peeez" means can find our great topics.
Today is also a very sad time, but one that comes every so often as our members grow older, lose interest in programming, advance their careers, or find themselves doing more of that real life stuff (yikes!).
So today, a few of our team will graduate and become part of the distinguished group of members we now call "Alumni". They are the moderators and admins who volunteered their time and dedicated themselves to Dream.In.Code to help create the amazing community it is today. While I certainly hope we'll see them again, supersloth, Thorian, William_Wilson, and NickDMax are leaving the Dream.In.Code team and will join the amazing group of Dream.In.Code alumni!
MarkoDaGeek has elected to become a moderator for a while and give someone else a stab at being an admin.
And while it is impossible to replace the talent, personalities, and helpfulness our Alumni have provided, we are already working hard to fill the gaps they will leave.
On a more personal note. To the Alumni, and the entire team. I realize over the years we've not always seen eye to eye on things, and I've probably left you scratching your heads a time or 2, but each and every one of you has made a huge impact in my life and I can't thank you enough for the time and energy you have put in to the work you've done here. In the past 3 years over 7,000,000 people have visited this site, and you've helped so many of them find the answers to their questions. You've helped turn students in to professionals. And inspire a level of creativity that I can't even muster in myself. It's been an amazing experience working with every one of you and I look forward to chatting with you, meeting up locally or when I'm in your town, and continuing to be friends (or at least tolerant of each other). Thanks for everything you've done.
Alumni are the members who have been admins or mods at one time, and no longer are for various reasons.
Of course they are all welcome here, and I would certainly hope they stick around, but many of them haven't even logged in for several years.
When someone stopped being an admin/mod I used to make them an expert or mentor, but I think they deserve more respect than that, they were all a major part of Dream.In.Code. They reached the top, and have moved on. Some come back. Some don't.

I haven't lost my interest yet and I hope I won't. Just been really busy.
This is sad. Really sad to read. A lot of people from the now Alumni team have helped me in the past. And though I haven't contributed that much in return to your site Sky, I still wish to give something back.
And actually, I've been missing a lot of people here.
