WOOHOO! I just made my first game. I know, it's gonna suck compared to what you guys make, but I'm new to graphics...

Attached File  Pong.zip ( 1.07mb ) Number of downloads: 55

Check the update:
http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/index.ph...st&p=385989

I included the source code under /src

Constructive criticism?

Oh yeah, it's written in C++ with SDL.

I've updated it, it's a bit better now. I posted about it, bottom of page 2 smile.gif

Actualy, I wasn't able to do one thing. By the time I notice what's happening a "Game Over" screen pops up.

I admit, it's a LOT better than I can do, but the controls give a somewhat wooden feeling to them.

Also the Dos prompt thingy popping up seems somewhat weird.

Yeah the timer comes next...

And Kirth, I'm planning on adding a splash screen, so you'll get time to prepare laugh.gif

This is just as far as I'm going tonight (probably) so I thought I'd post it up and get some feedback in it's current state.

yo mate as you kno i like the game, brings back old memories lol, yea the controls do need smoothing a little their pretty rugged but as your first go its a amazing start.
i found the ball speed was a bit to slow for my liking so maybe once you done a main page to the game you can add different settings that affect ball speed.

ill look forward to the 1v1 and 1vAI xD

Nice. icon_up.gif

You should definitely implement some kind of timer so that the game plays at a fixed speed on different systems. Unless I know even less about SDL than I thought, I didn't see one. smile.gif

I tried it and as soon as it loaded the ball shot across the screen and the game was over lol. I didn't even have time to move a control. Nice though smile.gif
