seriously. just google for any C++ compiler. I would suggest Borland, although others might have their own opinion. download, follow the guideline, it's very easy, then you'll be ready to program things in C++. after you're finished, all you'll ever need to program C++ is the notepad and the compiler. (did I mention all of those are free? tongue.gif )

there's all these IDE thingy if you want to, but as for beginner, I don't think you will need the IDE to work with. a command line tool is more than enough. console application before windows application.

should you have any problem, we'll be happy to help you. smile.gif

You can use Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express. It is free and does both C/C++ and VC++.

I downloaded my compiler from Bloodshed Dev. It will compile both C and C++. I am brand new to the programming world, so my knowledge of what is considered a decent compiler and what is not is rather limited, but I was pointed towards this compiler by a number of experienced programmers.

Best of luck.
