Hi! I'm making a program that's gonna send and receive data through internet. Thing's that I have a proxy to access internet. I'm wondering what can I do with the Winsock Control in VB to actually be able to send and receive data.

As my program is now, I can chat while in a local lan or without having a proxy.

As you're running proxy and with most proxy enabled internet connections you'll be running broadband connections. You will most likely have to enable the port on which you or the other client is attempting to connect to through the modem / router.

What do you mean by proxy? Like connecting through a SOCKS5 proxy? I think you would either a.) have to support the tunnel protocol itself, or b.) find a program that creates a tunnel for you (probably like SSH, but something more convenient and without the overhead).
