Iris Biometric System in java, Java supports such development?

I am a student working on this project, Iris Biometric System, not yet finalised ... it is just an idea. I was wondering if anyone has experience in such field; as i am planning to develop it in java if possible. Thank you.

Well essentially the Iris scan is the type of capturing device. It works like a thumb scan would or a barcode reader or other input devices like a keyboard/mouse.

The Iris scan would be the device, Java would just read the device like it does any other input device. Now if you are talking about saving an Iris image, comparing it against authorized users etc then that should probably be the focus of the project. If that is what you were meaning to begin with. smile.gif

Edit: And in that case yeah you can do it in Java for sure.
