HI, I am trying to figure out what I need to learn to program hardware.

I want to know how the xbox is programmed.

I bought some kits and books on the subject.

all I have so far is a cpld and a good about the hardware description programming.

can someone point me to tutorials on hardware programming.

I want to build my own radio for my car but this radio won't be just a radio but a embeded computer system.

I heard about the fpga's (field, programming, gate arrays)

I want to build a radio that can wirelessly connect to a satilight for gps info and also another sat for internet connection.

the reason I want to install winamp on the system to play radio stations hosted by shoutcast.

This is a project that I thought would be fun to do and would give me experience with hardware and hardware programming.

I would like any websites that could help me learn the programming process of chips.... like fpgas .

also I would like if anyone has any suggestions.
