Flash Buttons aren't showing up in HTML

Ok, so I have teh HTML of an example site written, well for menu buttons, I am using .swf files. Well, when I try to view the site, it comes out as white blanks with torn paper. Am I just like, not able to put .swf here or what?

flash files are not placed using img. That is reserved for images only. You will want to use the object tag or embed tag.
