Hi to all,

I am fairly new to access and I am working on making a database for a new business adventure. I already made my Product Listing Table and I want to take what I sell the unit for and subtract my cost so it will give me my profit. I am going to have a total of 5 different tables that I need to do this to. I would like for it to show in a report and on a form as well in the table. I really appreciate any help that anyone can provide. If any more information is needed or if some one wants to see my data base just let me know. Thanks again in advance for all your help.

Here is what my table looks like

Camera Products
Product ID(Primary Key
Manufacturer(Lookup List from another table)
Distributor(Lookup List from another table)
CCD
Lens
IR
MinLux(Color)
MinLux(B/W)
Resolution
OpticalZoom
DigitalZoom
Style(Lookup List)
Control
AutoIris(YES/NO Checkbox)
Day/Night(YES/NO Checkbox)
Outdoor(YES/NO Checkbox)
Heater(YES/NO Checkbox)
Fan(YES/NO Checkbox)
VandalProof(YES/NO Checkbox)
AddtionalInfo
Cost
MSRP
OurPrice
Profit(This is what I would like to accomplish)

After you update the sell price or the cost which ever comes last in the form go to the after update and build the vb code where me. Profit = me. Sell - me. Cost. Set the profit field to invisible so it is not seen but is updated. You need to add some if statements that will check to see if the other field has any information in it. You could put the code on both fields so that if the record is updated it will still make the calculation. But this won’t give you your profit unless you actually put in the quantity. And multiply the result of (sell - cost). Hope this helps.

I don't know VB or code. I really just want to make a simple database to track customers, products and orders. I ran a query and was able to get it to calculate the profit. I was also wondering ho to have it show in the form that I am making to add/view products.
